The study of mathematics is a process that develops important modes of critical thinking. Because quantitative problem solving is a desirable skill, a minor in mathematics can be a beneficial addition to you regardless of your major at Pacific.
Mathematics minors may benefit you if you plan on further graduate education in related areas. Minors in mathematics are designed to offer a measure of breadth and some depth in your mathematical experience.
Only courses passed with a C or better grade are used to meet the minor requirements. You must complete a minimum of 12 of the minor units at Pacific. If you plan to minor in mathematics, contact the chair of the Mathematics Department so we can assign a minor advisor.
You must complete a minimum of 23 units with a Pacific minor grade point average of 2.0 in order to earn a minor in Mathematics.
